Children's Medical Services has a new Provider Management Site. This site contains a listing of health care providers that are specially qualified to meet the unique needs of children with special health care needs. Through this site the general public will be able to search for a specific CMS approved provider by name or obtain a listing of CMS approved providers available by specialty and by county. Healthcare providers will be able to submit an electronic application for CMS participation. Existing CMS approved providers will be given access to the system as they come up for renewal, to review and update their existing data. High Fives - Healthy Lives; A Program to Confront Childhood Obesity: At the Children's Medical Services West Palm Beach Area Office, they’ve created a special program to help children with special health care needs stay fit. With a team of specialists leading the way, children with special health care needs and their families are encouraged to practice lifelong health eating and physical activity in the High Fives-Healthy Lives Program. Newborn Screening Expansion: The Florida Newborn Screening Program currently screens for 35 disorders including hearing. Cystic Fibrosis screening was added in July 1, 2007. Florida KidCare program: The Florida KidCare children's health insurance program now has year-round open enrollment.
