IFSP Implementation
In this step of the IFSP process, following the identification of outcomes and initial strategies, the team develops intervention activities and experiences
that promote learning and enhance development within the child's natural environment and implements the supports and services identified in the IFSP.
Following are the Early Steps requirements and team activities forimplementation of the IFSP:
- provide services utilizing the same individuals involved in the evaluation and development of the IFSP
- identify the member of the team most appropriate to serve as the primary service provider to work with the child and other primary caregiver(s)
- Primary service provider may be a specialist (therapist or any other licensed professional) or a generalist (ITDS or EI Provider)
- Primary service provider is responsible for on-going communication with other team members
- Primary service provider may change as dictated by child/family needs
- conduct ongoing team assessment of the child
- write plans of care that reflect the team is coordinating and working in unison toward common goals and strategies to achieve the outcomes reflected on the IFSP
- meet as a team on a regular basis as documented in team meeting/staffing notes
