On-Site Sewage Treatment and Disposal System (OSTDS)

Properly operating on-site sewage disposal systems are vital to the protection of surface water and potable water wells. The goal of the OSTDS program is to make sure that all new or repaired septic systems will meet the requirements of 64E-6*Florida Administrative Code and function properly.

With this goal in mind, the Environmental Health Division of the Bay County Health Department provides assistance with proposed as well as existing structures or even development of new subdivisions.
In response to each type of application, two soil profiles, a site plan, and floor plan review are performed. System design specifications are then set and permits are then issued.
