STD
The Holmes County Health Department STD program makes every attempt to help eliminate the spread of STDs in the community. Positive STD cases are treated appropriately and contacts to those cases are identified and offered appropriate testing and subsequent treatment. The Holmes County Health Department provides comprehensive testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases (STD).
All services are confidential and minors can be treated without parental consent. Abstinence is stressed to guarantee no unwanted pregnancies and freedom from STDs. Clients are evaluated for STDs in the integrated clinic where testing is performed for syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and/or HIV. Partner notification is available through a Disease Intervention Specialists
Sexually Transmitted Diseases are not Discriminatory. Prevention is Best.
STD Screenings are available at Holmes County Health Dept. Monday through Friday. Scheduled appointments are preferred to help decrease your wait time. All services are confidential and you are required to return for your test results. No results will be given over the phone.
Fees
Fees for these services are based on a sliding-fee scale according to income.
Testing for hepatitis A, B, and C, is available at no cost to clients meeting specific Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. If appropriate, vaccine for hepatitis A and B is subsequently available to those clients at no cost.

HIV/AIDS
HIV screening is also available Monday through Friday and is included in a STD screen. Scheduled appointments are preferred to help decrease your wait time. Results are usually back in two weeks but occasionally takes three to four weeks to arrive. All services are confidential and you must return to the clinic to receive your results. If positive results are received clients are referred to another county for medical care, labs and prescriptions. If eligible clients may receive medications here at Holmes County Health Dept. through the Aids Drug Assistance Program
The purpose of the AIDS Drug Assistance Program is to ensure that underserved and uninsured individuals living with HIV/AIDS have access to life-saving medications.
