For pregnant women and new mothers
Healthy Start Screenings:
Every prenatal provider in the state of Florida is required to offer a free Healthy Start Screen to all pregnant women and new mothers. The purpose of the screen is to determine if there is something about your health or living situation that could cause problems for you or your baby.
Care Coordination:
The Martin County Health Department’s Care Coordinators work with you to schedule the services you may need and connect you with community programs including:
• Breastfeeding and childbirth education
• Parenting education and support
• Smoking cessation assistance
• Nutritional services and counseling
• Psychosocial counseling
