All businesses that offer tattoos and/or permanent make-up are required to be permitted by the Florida Department of Health because they generate Biomedical Waste.
After January 1, 2012, ALL businesses that offer tattoos and/or permanent make-up will be required to be permitted by the Florida Department of Health as a Tattoo Establishment.
Before January 1, 2012, ALL businesses that offer tattoos and/or permanent make-up are required to operate ONLY under the supervision of an authorized medical doctor under Florida Statute and Florida Administrative Code.
