Congratulations on your new pregnancy! Have you thought about 
how you’re going to feed your new baby? Research has shown 
that there is no better food than breast milk for a baby’s first 
year of life. Breastfeeding provides many health, nutritional, 
economical and emotional benefits to mother and baby. WIC 
mothers are encouraged to breastfeed their infants! 


Breastfeeding mothers receive education and follow-up 
support through peer counselors and lactation consultants. 

Breastfeeding mothers are eligible to participate in WIC 
longer than non-breastfeeding mothers. 

Mothers who exclusively breastfeed their infants receive an 
enhanced food package. 

Breastfeeding mothers can receive breast pumps and other 
lactation equipment to help support the initiation and 
continuation of breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding Classes - New Smyrna Beach 2013 

Breastfeeding is a natural process and it is as much a science as it is an art. This class is designed to teach you 
the benefits of breas.eeding your baby, how to prevent breas.eeding issues with your newborn, common 
concerns, where to find support, and informaOon on choosing a breast pump. A guest is welcome to a.end. 

Our Childbirth Class focuses on birthing your baby as a normal, natural, and healthy process. We believe 
women should be empowered through educaOon and support, with confidence in their bodies. Learn all 
about the birthing process! A support person is highly encouraged to a.end.
