This is the homeowner version of our Onsite Sewage Treatment & Disposal System CD ROM. It provides the homeowner with specific knowledge to keep their septic system working correctly and what to do if it is failing. Swimming Pools & Spas Professional Version This training CD ROM takes you from the design stage of a swimming pool through enforcement. The CD ROM is an excellent training tool for training new environmental health personnel and a good review for experienced staff. This interactive multimedia training program was produced in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, Georgia. Technical content review and support was received from the Environmental Health Services Branch of the National Center for Environmental HealthThe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention used this training as part of their Capacity Building Initiative and they sent 4,000 copies out to state and local public health agencies across the United States. You will receive 12 Continuing Educational Units for successful passing of the final exam. Mosquitos & You! Mosquito Control & Prevention The Volusia County Health Department developed this interactive multimedia training program to teach elementary school-aged children and their parents mosquito prevention techniques for West Nile Virus. It reviews good prevention practices such as removal of breeding habitat and community-wide control measures; and personal protective measures including use of appropriate clothing, screening, and repellents. It also reviews the public health problems associated with mosquitos. This training conforms to the State of Florida Science and Health Sunshine State Standards for Grades PreK - 5 and was distributed to all schools in Volusia County. The CD ROM has games the children can play while teaching them about mosquitos. Children can take a checklist page home and go around their homes with their parents and mark off places that mosquitos hide and get rid of these places. Teachers can use the guide to follow the CD ROM and both the CD ROM and the guide have resources for additional information. Objectives of the program include: the stages of the mosquito life cycle, identification of mosquito breeding places and how to attempt to eliminate them, effective protection techniques, and how to protect their family and pets.
