The vision of the Division of Disease Control, Bureau of HIV/AIDS is to significantly reduce the infection rates of HIV and viral hepatitis and provide quality services for those already infected/affected.
The mission of the Division of Disease Control, Bureau of a HIV/AIDS is to promote and protect the health and safety of all people in Florida through the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis programs.

About Our Program The HIV/AIDS Program provides intervention and prevention services for Area 12 which includes both Volusia and Flagler Counties. Program staff works cooperatively with local providers, community service agencies, and area colleges to reach as many at risk individuals as possible. | What is the difference between a rapid-HIV test and traditional HIV test? | The major difference between a rapid-HIV test and traditional HIV tests is the amount of time it takes for the results to be available. A rapid HIV test can take as little as 20 minutes for results while a traditional HIV test can take up to 4 weeks for results. |
| Are rapid-HIV tests available at all Volusia County Health Department clinic locations? |
Only the Daytona Beach location offers rapid-HIV tests. Other community
partners, including Outreach Community Care Network offer
rapid-HIV tests. |
| What is the cost for an HIV test? | The price for a traditional HIV test is $19 (cost subject to change) and the rapid-HIV test costs $20 (cost subject to change). |
