Florida Trauma System Planning Teams

The Florida Trauma System Plan Advisory Council has nine standing planning teams that are utilized to develop, implement, and evaluate the goal strategies included in the 2011-2015 Florida Trauma System Plan (zip 28.07mb/56 pages). Each team is assigned a specific goal, strategies and projects. These planning teams hold conference calls at least quarterly to work on the strategies and projects included in their annual action plans, which are linked to their assigned goal.

Goal 6: Medical Rehabilitation Access to Care Planning Team
Goal 7: Quality Improvement Planning Team
Goal 8: Regional Systems Planning Team
Goal 9: Registry/Research Planning Team

During the month of May 2011, the Florida Trauma System Planning Teams conference calls were held to review and revise the draft 2011-2012 action plans and identify champions and work groups to implement the respective goal strategies included in the annual action plans. On June 9 2011, the Florida Trauma System Plan Advisory Council held a conference call and approved the annual action plan for each of the planning teams for implementation.

The following is the schedule for the next planning team conference calls:

Goal 2: Injury Prevention and Control - TBA

Goal 3: Emergency/Disaster Preparedness Plan - September 21, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time (12:00 - 1:30 p.m. Central Time)

Goal 4: Pre-Hospital Care and Transport - TBA

Goal 5: Definitive Care - Trauma Centers - September 13, 2011 from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time (2:00 - 3:30 p.m. Central Time)

Goal 6: Definitive Care - Medical Rehabilitation - August 25, 2011 Conference Call has been Cancelled - The call will be rescheduled for September.

Goal 7: Evaluation, Quality Management & Performance Improvement  - TBA

Goal 8: Regional System Evaluation Team Members and Interested Parties - The Office of Trauma has cancelled the Goal 8 - Regional System Evaluation Planning Team Conference Call scheduled for September 20, 2011 due to scheduling conflicts of the planning team leads and some of the members. We will schedule the conference call during next quarter. The notice will be posted in the Traumacomm, Florida Administrative Weekly and the department's websites. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Goal 9: Trauma Registry - TBA

The dates for the remainder of the planning team conference calls indicating TBA are forthcoming. Final notices will be emailed to the planning team members and included in future Traumacomm newsletters as soon as the agendas and handouts are available for these scheduled conference calls.
