Persons in private and public healthcare professions
are confronted with difficult and complex HIV/AIDS issues.
Providing up-to-date information on HIV/AIDS is necessary for the
delivery of prevention efforts to communities within
Florida. In response to the need for
up-to-date information, the Florida Department of Health, through a
cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC), formed an HIV/AIDS Educational Materials Review
Panel, entitiled Carlos Alvarez Program Review Panel.
The purpose of this panel is to make
recommendations to the department regarding HIV/AIDS messages designed
to communicate with the highly diverse populations of Florida.
The approved list of HIV/AIDS Educational
Materials represents all currently approved materials. Because
these are teaching tool, some of the materials are explicit in nature. Please read the important CDC
message at the top of the
page about the content of these materials BEFORE you begin using this tool.
Please obtain samples before ordering materials.
Any materials discussing Nonoxynol-9 (N-9) as a means of HIV prevention
have been removed from the approved list.
In addition to the materials here, CDC and Health Resources and Services
Administration materials are also acceptable for purchase and use
by Department of Health funded providers. |
