following is a collection of free online training opportunities about influenza
and respiratory diseases. Trainings on this page are targeted toward a variety
of audiences, and include Florida Department of Health trainings and outside

Informed and Be Prepared

Florida ILINet Training and
Orientation
This presentation is designed as an introduction to the Florida Department of
Health's influenza surveillance systems, and especially Florida's Outpatient
Influenza-like Illness Surveillance Network (ILINet) sentinel provider network.
The presentation includes basic information on influenza epidemiology, and
follows with a summary of the surveillance systems used to track influenza
activity, morbidity, and mortality in Florida. An explanation of Florida's
ILINet surveillance system shows how influenza-like illness (ILI) data and
influenza specimens are collected, and outlines the benefits of the program for
the provider and the public.

Audience: Physicians and nurses who are currently enrolled in the ILINet
program or who are interested in joining, County Health Department epidemiology
and nursing staff.
