Did you know that health care providers are required by law to report TB cases and suspects within 72 hours of diagnosis?   For more information on who must report, what information must be reported, how to report, and follow-up reporting requirements, please follow this link.

TB Reporting Requirements for Laboratories

 

Did you know that each person in charge of a laboratory which performs cultures for mycobacteria or refers specimens for mycobacterial cultures to other laboratories is required to report all specimens positive for Mycobacteraium tuberculosis, bovis or africanum within 72 hours?  Please check the following link for further details on what information must be reported, how to report and list of numbers in your area for reporting.

Florida's List of Reportable Diseases of Public Health Significance

 

Florida law requires the Department of Health to periodically issue a list of diseases determined to be of public health significance and that are required to be reported to the county health departments.  Please see the current listing.  Note some disease have to be reported immediately by telephone as noted by a (T) next to their name.
