The Department of Health does not regulate home health type agencies. The Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) regulates and licenses homemaker companion agencies as well as other home health agencies. More information can be found at their website:

Facilities not regulated by the Department of Health (DOH) may be regulated by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), Division of Hotels and Restaurants, which includes apartments and various lodging facilities. To file a complaint for investigation by a DBPR inspector, you may contact their agency by phone at 850-487-1395 or via the internet at:
