Florida Arbovirus
Surveillance (January 1 - May 4, 2013)

Two human cases of Eastern Equine Encephalitis virus
infection has been reported in 2013. Six positive equine for Eastern Equine
Encephalitis virus has been reported for 2013. Twenty-six sentinel chickens
tested positive for antibodies to West Nile virus, eleven to Eastern Equine
Encephalitis and one to St. Louis Encephalitis virus in 2013. For details,
please see the weekly surveillance data. Miami-Dade County is currently under
mosquito-borne illness alert. Hillsborough and Levy counties are currently under
a mosquito-borne illness advisory. No other counties are currently under
mosquito-borne illness advisory or alert.
