This public pool and bathing place rule revision was published in the Florida Administrative Weekly as the public hearing version on October 24, 2008.  The hearing was held on December 2, 2008.  A Notice of Change was published April 10, 2009.

Pool Permitting Process

1. As of April 30, 2012, all construction plans must be sent to the jursidictional Building Department.

and DH 914 applications, signed and sealed by an engineer registered in Florida, are submitted to the Dept. of Health along with the appropriate review fee.

2. After construction: DH 916s, signed by all listed parties on the back, are submitted to the office that approved the plans, along with the appropriate fee. After a satisfactory inspection, an initial operating permit is issued.

3. Annual permits are issued through the County Health Departments based on the capacity of the pool. The statute that addresses public swimming pools is Florida Statutes 514.
