In conjunction with the Governor's Just Read, Florida and the Department of Health's Read for Health initiatives, the Public Health Dental Program has developed a list of children's books called Read for Dental Health (49 KB PDF Document). Health officials are encouraging colleagues throughout the state to promote literacy by incorporating literacy activities into the scope of their services. We encourage those responsible for purchasing books for county health departments, schools, libraries and families to include books about oral health when selecting books to read to young children.
