To calculate total amount of required milk:
Use your CCFP Monthly Meal Count Record to enter the total number of meals claimed by age group. Click on Calculate to show the total minimum required ounces and gallons of milk needed for the claim month. If the resulting number of gallons is a fraction, round up as follows: for decimals between .0 and .5, round up to the nearest half-gallon; for decimals greater than .5, round up to the nearest gallon. Compare your milk receipts to this grand total to determine if you have purchased enough milk. NOTE: If more than one type of snack morning, afternoon, evening) is claimed, enter the combined total of all snack types (with milk) served by each age group.
To calculate amounts of whole milk vs. nonfat/lowfat milk required:
Use the calculator above to show the total minimum required ounces and gallons of milk needed for the claim month. Then enter the total number of one-year-olds for each meal type below. Click on Calculate to show the total minimum required ounces and gallons of whole milk needed for one-year-olds and fatfree/1% milk needed for children aged two and older. If the resulting number of gallons is a fraction, round up as follows: for decimals between .0 and .5, round up to the nearest half-gallon; for decimals greater than .5, round up to the nearest gallon.
