Oral Health for HIV/AIDS Patients Workgroup

Goal - To raise awareness of the importance of oral health to total health and the systemic health impact of chronic oral infections in patients with compromised immune systems; and to develop an action plan that addresses oral health issues of concern Florida's population with HIV/AIDS and those who care for them.

  • Oral Health for HIV/AIDS Patents and Forum Workgroups (Included In SOHIP Action Plan)

2006 - Explored possible venues for a forum which did not work out. SOHIP voted on December 1, 2006 that the focus for 2007 will be on early childhood caries special needs, elderly and independent coalition development. Holding a Oral Health forum for HIV/AIDS patients will be considered in planning for 2008.
