Oral Health Disparity Reduction for Minorities Workgroup

Goal - To increase access to dental care for racial and ethnic minorities; to raise awareness among minority patients and their medical professionals regarding the importance of oral health for total health and to incorporate preventive steps targeted at diseases with systemic connections to oral health for which racial and ethnic disparities exist.

Initiatives

• Oral health strategies from the SOHIP plan have been integrated into the strategic plan for minority health.
• Workgroup is forming.
