The Epilepsy Services Program was established in 1974 through the efforts of a number of dedicated individuals. Currently, the Florida Department of Health administers the Program and services are coordinated by eleven Epilepsy Services providers. Client Services include medical care for seizures and case management. Services are provided to children and adults who have epilepsy and live in Florida -- even in the most remote areas of the state.

Since knowledge leads to understanding, Epilepsy Services also has a Prevention and Education component. We teach both professionals and the general public about preventing epilepsy, recognizing seizures, proper seizure first aid and dispelling myths about seizure disorders.

An important feature of Epilepsy Services is the trained, caring people who work to make life easier, more productive and happier for people with epilepsy and their families.
