Centers for the Application of Prevention
Technologies (CAPT)
The primary mission of the National Centers for the Application of Prevention Technologies (CAPT) system
is to bring research to practice by assisting States/ Jurisdictions and community-based organizations in
the application of the latest research-based knowledge to their substance abuse prevention programs,
practices, and policies. Each of the six regional centers focuses on fine-tuned expertise to provide
unduplicated products and services nationwide. The Building a Successful Prevention Program is a featured
service of the Western CAPT. A wide-range of state-of-the-art products and services are available to the
field at low or no-cost.
