Healthy Start Standards and Guidelines
The Healthy Start Standards and Guidelines are intended to guide the implementation of Healthy Start and the use of Healthy Start funds. Healthy Start coalitions and providers are accountable for delivering services in compliance with these standards as outlined in administrative rules in the Florida Administrative Code.
In addition, the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) and the Florida Department of Health (DOH) received approval from the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) to implement a waiver that allows the State of Florida to expand Medicaid benefits and eligibility to cover Florida's Healthy Start services. All Healthy Start services will be monitored by the Healthy Start coalitions participating in this waiver project based on criteria outlined in the DOH Healthy Start Standards and Guidelines.
