Department of Health
Bright Ideas Databank
The Bright Ideas Databank
(formerly the department's Best Practice Compendium) is a resource that
highlights successful statewide best and promising practices within the
department that exhibit positive results, and are able to be replicated by
others to improve their own health or business outcomes. The databank,
available through the Office of Performance Improvement's (HPI) internal
website, is the department's central location of innovative public
health and business processes and practices. It includes all entries
previously recognized as best or promising practices and bright ideas, as
well as Davis Productivity Award winners. Databank submissions that are
Davis Award winners, have been recognized as promising by other external
entities, and those that are evidence-based practices and interventions are
noted as such in the description section. The Bright Ideas Databank homepage
displays submissions in the chronological order they were posted.
Reviewing these
ideas and replicating them--either in part or whole--allows department
staff to benefit from colleagues' experiences, with the ultimate goal of
increasing departmental efficiency and effectiveness. The databank supports
and encourages an environment of peer learning, and a culture of
collaboration and performance excellence.
