Technical Assistance

The Office of Performance Improvement (HPI) is dedicated to helping staff throughout the Department of Health (DOH)'s network of local County Health Departments and statewide public health programs to get the best results possible. Improving the efficiency of the department's internal work processes is challenging, but vital to improving overall performance.

Do you ever find yourself asking these questions..."What do we need to get started with a performance improvement project?" "Are we doing the right thing?" "How do we know we're making a difference?" The Office of Performance Improvement is here to help DOH staff answer these questions!  Whether you are looking for a specific resource, or can't quite put your finger on what you need, the Office of Performance Improvement can provide guidance and assistance tailored to help you achieve your performance goals.

Performance Consultants
HPI staff model their commitment to continuous performance improvement through certification by the American Society for Quality (ASQ), either as Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA) and/or a Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ-OE).

HPI Performance Consultants assist staff department-wide with planning and performance improvement efforts. Examples of technical assistance include:

  • Using the DOH 5-Step Performance Improvement Process for continuous performance improvement;

  • Strategic Planning;

  • Process Mapping;

  • Data Analysis (including Root Cause Analysis);

  • Team Dynamics; and

  • Meeting facilitation.
