A temporary change in the water supply will affect the Spruce Creek Fly-in neighborhood because Volusia County will replace a meter at the Fly-In’s water treatment facility Oct. 4. The City of Port Orange will supply water for customers from Oct. 4 - 8.

The county and city use different methods for disinfection. Port Orange uses a “chloramination” process while the county uses a
“chlorination” method.

While most customers likely won’t notice any change in water quality, chlorinated water requires special care to be taken by kidney dialysis patients and customers with fish tanks or ponds.

For more information about the temporary conversion, please call Volusia County Water Resources and Utilities at 386-822-6465 or
800-255-2069.
