Halifax Health – Hospice of Volusia/Flagler in search of volunteers to work with grieving children and families

 

Port Orange, FL (October 8, 2010) The Lawrence E. Whelan BeginAgain Children’s Grief Center is offering a training course for volunteers interested in working with grieving children and their families. The Center is looking for compassionate individuals who are willing to give a one-year commitment to the program. Volunteers are needed in DeLand, Daytona Beach and Flagler County.

All volunteers receive a free, comprehensive training program at the Daytona Grief Center location on the
following dates:

  • Monday, November 1, 2010 - 5:30 to 9 pm
  • Monday, November 8, 2010 - 5:30 to 9 pm
  • Monday, November 15, 2010 - 5:30 to 9 pm
  • Monday, November 22, 2010 - 5:30 to 9 pm
  • Monday, November 29, 2010 - 5:30 to 9 pm
  • Monday, December 6, 2010 - 5:30 to 9 pm


Time will also be spent in individual interviews, group observation, and a funeral home tour to be scheduled at a later date. Volunteers must attend all six classes.

The deadline to apply for this volunteer training program is Monday, October 25, 2010.
