A Community Health Message - 12/08/09 (PDF - 279 kb) (posted: 12/08/09) - We thank everyone for being patient and allowing our most vulnerable residents to be vaccinated first against the H1N1 flu virus. At this time, the Volusia County Health Department is opening up the free H1N1 vaccinations to anyone who wants to be vaccinated. You may visit one of our four health department clinic locations to be vaccinated.

The majority of the flu cases in Florida are H1N1 Swine Flu. The Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are no longer counting individual cases, but are collecting reports of deaths, hospitalized pregnant women, those with life threatening illness, and outbreaks of influenza or influenza-like illness(ILI).
