Emergency Response

During manmade or natural disasters, the Environmental Health Section is integrally involved in supporting Emergency Support Function 8 (ESF 8) at the Alachua County Emergency Operations Center, designated shelters, and wherever their expertise is needed. Hurricanes, floods, potential bio-terrorism episodes, toxic chemical releases and sewage spills, are just some of the events that have been responded to.
