Environmental Health Section

Division of Environmental Health

The Alachua County Health Department’s Environmental Health Section provides permitting, inspection, regulatory, and environmental assessment and surveillance services to private and public interests in Alachua County. In addition, the Section serves as a regional hub to programmatically assigned North Central Florida counties.

Environmental Public Health Data

The Environmental Public Health Database is now available to search online! This comprehensive information system makes it easy to search and find the results of Environtmental Health inspection reports for onsite sewage permits, biomedical waste permits, swimming pool permits and other programs regulated by the Florida Department of Health.

Introducing Florida Tracking Data

The Florida Environmental Public Health Tracking Network has a dynamic Web portal that provides for the first time, health and environmental data in one easy to find location. The Tracking Network is a web-based query system that provides a "one-stop data shop" for health, environmental hazard and exposure information. Available information on the Health Tracking website includes: Risks from environmental hazards such as poor outdoor air quality, chemicals in drinking water and hazardous waste sites adverse health effects from environmental hazards, such as asthma hospitalizations, heart attacks, selected birth defects, carbon monoxide poisoning and childhood lead poisoning.
