The Bradford County Health Department is
pleased to provide services to the residents and visitors to our county.
Bradford County is a growing county in North Central Florida and the health
department is prepared to be a leader in the development of health care
services.
Our primary care physician, Dr. Jorge Gilete,
is a family physician who provides care to children and adults. Stop by and
see our personally decorated exam rooms (like none you have ever seen
before!). Dr. Gilete, along with our great team of professionals who are
pleased and excited to serve.
We are
excited to announce our new family practice nurse practitioner, Charlanna
Speights, RN, ARNP. A recent graduate of the University of Florida,
Charlanna will be working in our family planning, women's health and primary
care clinics for Bradford County. With this new staff member, we are now
able to provide primary care five days a week.
Community health education is offered to our
citizens through civic organizations, faith based groups and outreach events
on a wide range of topics. Our goal is to help the people in Bradford
County make healthy choices.
The School Health team works closely with the
schools to ensure that our students receive health screenings, referrals for
services and assistance with health issues to keep them learning. They
evaluate student immunization histories to ensure they are up-to-date on
required school entry vaccines. They also do a great job with student
health education, in the clinic and classroom setting.
The dental program for children enrolled in
Medicaid provides comprehensive services one week a month at our health
department. We have partnered with Baker County Health Department in this
effort to provide much needed dental services for children. Services are
provided for Medicaid clients age 3 to 21 years. If the client is in a
local public school, transportation is available to and from the school
setting by the Bradford County School Board while school is in session.
The Healthy Start program helps pregnant women
and new parents with a wide range of FREE services including childbirth
education, smoking cessation, Mom’s meetings, breastfeeding, and linking to
other services. Our staff is very skilled at local resources and is glad to
help new parents and soon to be parents get what they need.
Environmental Health program provides services
to new and established residents to make certain they are in compliance with
the requirements of Florida Statutes, maintaining our beautiful environment
here in Bradford County.
We welcome your input and suggestions about
how we can continue to expand our message and serve our community. In the
medical clinic, in the schools, in the community our staff is ready to
provide services, information, assistance and guidance to improve your
health.
