Brevard County Special Needs Program is for persons requiring medical or transportation assistance in the event of an evacuation.  Most often those living on the barrier islands, low-lying areas, and mobile/manufactured homes are evacuated when a hurricane is approaching our area.  However, persons living in this area could be evacuated for a fire, tornado, or any other man-made or natural disaster.

Evacuating to a Special Needs Shelter is an option of last resort and you must meet medical criteria. Applications are available from the following agencies: Durable Medical Equipment companies, Home Health Care Agencies or the Office of Emergency Management.
