Charlotte
County Florida - Proclamation
Whereas, pleasant,
efficient, health care facilities are essential in Charlotte
County's ability to successfully promote and protect the health and
safety of all its citizens; and
Whereas, four of the six
Charlotte County Health Department facilities as well as the homes
of many of its staff members were destroyed by Hurricane Charley in
2004; severely inhibiting delivery of public health services to the
citizens of Charlotte County; and
Whereas, the Florida State
Department of Health immediately mobilized staff and resources from
around the state to help Charlotte County Health Department restore
and maintain essential public health services; and
Whereas, today, Charlotte
County Health Department continues its recovery process of
rebuilding, remodeling and relocating its facilities, thereby
increasing its ability to provide high quality public health
services for the community.
Now, therefore, be it
proclaimed that on January 20, 2007, the Punta Gorda facility of
the Charlotte County Health Department is officially re-opened and
ready to meet the public health needs of Charlotte County citizens.
Passed and duly adopted this
