| Mobile Home & Recreational Vehicle Parks
The Mobile Home /Recreational Vehicle park program includes approximately 5,700 mobile home parks, lodging and recreational vehicle parks, and recreational camps in Florida. The objective of this program is to minimize the risk of injury and illness in this residential environment. Of primary concern and importance are safe drinking water supply, proper sewage disposal, a safe and disease free swimming pool (where provided), and assurances that the establishment is free from garbage, harmful insects, and rodent infestations. Charlotte County Health Department has 46 such facilities. Licensing and inspections are required for mobile home and recreational vehicle parks that have five or more sites. Charlotte County Health Department also receives and investigates environmental health and sanitation complaints about these facilities.
Any person wanting to operate a mobile home/recreational vehicle park or camp in Charlotte County must submit a completed application and a set of park plans in accordance with Chapter 64E-15 and applicable fee to the Charlotte County Health Department’s Environmental Health Division and be granted a license prior to operation. The permit year runs from October 1 to September 30.
