Methods that just don’t work!

Type What is it? Why doesn't it work?

Periodic Abstinence

"Rhythm"

"Calendar Method"

When a couple decide not to have sex during the days a woman is more likely to become pregnant based on her menstrual cycle.

It is not reliable for adolescents, because a female's menstrual cycle is not regular enough to predict when she will ovulate each cycle.

Withdrawal

"Pull & Pray"

"Pull Out"

It is when the penis is pulled out of the vagina just before ejaculation.

Before ejaculation some fluid that has sperm may be released into the vagina without the male knowing.  Ladies do you really trust that the male will have the self-control, and knowledge of when to pull out? I don't think so!

Douching

Douching is washing out the vagina with fluids.  Females believe that by douching after sex it will kill or wash out the sperm that is in the vagina.

Sperms are fast critters, and they may reach the cervix just seconds after ejaculation.  To make it worse, douching might also help the sperms reach the cervix.

Urinating after sex

Urinating right after sex with the belief that urine will kill or wash away the sperm.

Guess what ladies, where you urinate and where you have sex, are two different pathways.  Urine goes through the urethra and sperm enters the vagina.  The two shall never meet.
