ADULTS
Adult Health Services Primary Care Medical Services
Physical examination, health screening, laboratory services, some prescription medicines, x-ray referrals, well and sick care, medical follow-up, referral to specialists, immunizations and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases. The Primary Care Program cannot pay for hospitalization or delivery of babies. Services are available in Inverness and Lecanto offices.

Education
Diabetic Classes
As of January 1, 2012 Free Diabetic classes are cancelled until further notice,
if you have any questions or concerns please call (352) 527-0068.

Cost Services are
as low as $10.00 if you meet the income eligibility requirements or if you have
Medicaid
or Medipass with Citrus County Health Department.

Recommendations for Adult Immunizations
Tetanus, diphtheria - 1 dose every 10 years; for severe wounds, get booster if last dose more than 5 years prior. Influenza- Annually for those over age 50 and for those with medical or occupational and household indications.
Pneumococcal - For those under age 65, 1 dose for persons with medical or other indications; for those age 65 and older, 1 dose for those with no prior vaccination; revaccinate if last dose before age 65 and more than 5 years has passed.
Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A, Measles-Mumps-Rubella, Varicella (Chickenpox), Meningococcal vaccines may be indicated for some adults. Call 352-527-0068 for more information.

Travel Immunizations
Citrus County Health Department does not provide travel immunizations or
consultation for travel immunizations. For information on travel immunizations

We Care Program The Citrus County We Care program
is a network of volunteer positions who provide specialty services to low income
uninsured residents of Citrus County whose household incomes are below 200% of
the Federal Poverty Level. The program has healthcare providers who volunteer their time to see eligible patients; however, not all specialties are available. Individuals must have a referral from a primary healthcare provider or must be able to establish a need for care. An eligibility interview must be completed at the Citrus County Health Department.
