The Citrus County Health Department will be closing the pharmacy on
March 7,2013.
We have been reviewing the pharmacy program for the past nine months and
have considered all the options before making this difficult decision.
Working together with our clients and private partners we were able to
provide a viable solution that we believe will benefit our clients, and
the community as a whole. We knew from our clients concerns and the
decline in numbers, that people wanted services closer to their homes
and offered hours of operations that included nights and weekend.
Partnering with our local pharmacies to provide this service
accomplished both of those goals.
Currently all of our pharmacy prescriptions have been relocated to the
Walgreens Pharmacy at 4020 N Lecanto Highway Beverly Hills Florida. By
law (F.S.465.022 (1) (g) all pharmacy client records must be sent to
another pharmacy location. You may elect to transfer your prescriptions
to the pharmacy that best suits your needs. If we can be of any
assistance to you during this transition please feel free to call
pharmacy at 352-249-9258 (option 1) extension 409.
We thank you for your continued support.

With the
misinformation that has been reported, it is important for the public to
know the number of TB cases in Florida has been trending downward for
several years. The increase in this particular strain of non-drug
resistant TB has affected approximately 99 people over the past eight

Smokeless Tobacco
Smokeless tobacco is the unseen killer of the
tobacco family. You see the ring in the back pocket of several pairs of jeans
and you see the water bottle wrapped in tin foil, but you don't see the smoke.
What you do see, however, are the horrifying effects that smokeless tobacco has
on your mouth, tongue, gums, teeth and throat. Smokeless tobacco is NOT a safe
alternative to cigarettes. To learn more about the dangers of smokeless tobacco, click
