WIC - Women, Infants and
Children

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and
Children, also known as WIC,
provides a combination of nutritious foods, education, breastfeeding
promotion and referrals. WIC foods
provide an important supplement to the diets of women and children during
critical periods of growth and development. WIC services are provided
by the Columbia County Health Department or by contract
agencies.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible for the WIC
program, you must be a pregnant woman, a woman who has recently been
pregnant, a breastfeeding mother, or an infant or child under the age
of five years. Eligibility is also determined based on income and
nutritional risk.
