The Gadsden County Step Up, Florida! Health
Communities Program
The Step Up, Florida Healthy Communities Program
provides funding to all 67 Florida County Health Departments, including Gadsden
County, to develop and implement cardiovascular prevention programs addressing
essential Healthy People 2010 objectives, including good nutrition, physical
activity, heart-healthy environments, and tobacco avoidance.
Gadsden's Step Up, Florida Healthy Communities Program mobilizes community
resources and partnerships to target communities, schools, worksites, churches,
and other groups to implement policy and environmental changes. Funding for
Gadsden's Step Up, Florida Healthy Communities Program is provided through the
Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Basic Implementation Grant from the Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention.
