STD Prevention Program
The Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Prevention Program’s is a regional
program that serves 14 counties. Our mission is to intervene in the spread of
STDs throughout the counties. Through educational presentations, screenings,
health fairs and our outreach programs we are able to raise awareness in the
counties. We provide confidential counseling, testing and treatment for persons
either diagnosed or exposed to an STD. Furthermore, we have a proactive approach
to help protect infected individuals, their partners and unborn children from
the serious complications that may result from untreated STDs. Clients receiving
our services who are diagnosed with an STD are also offered partner referral
services that allow notification and treatment for their partners. This service
is provided to clients on a voluntary basis and is strictly confidential.
Our four major program components comprise the STD Prevention Program are:
Clinical Services
Community Relations
Field Services (including Partner Counseling and Referral Services)
Information for Teens
Surveillance
