Family Planning

Comprehensive family planning services are available at the Gadsden County Health Departments. FDA approved methods of contraception are available. Services are provided on a sliding scale fee based on the individual's income after eligibility has been determined. There is no chare for services to clients with incomes up to 100% of the current federal poverty level. Priority is placed on serving low-income individuals who are at risk of unwanted pregnancy.

Gadsden County Health Department offers counseling and referrals for subsidized sterilization services, providing low-income women and men with services for free or on a sliding scale fee basis.

In addition, family planning information, education, and services reduce both the incidence and impact of sexually transmitted diseases through screening and treatment.
