Vital Statistics
The Vital Statistics Department under the direction of the State Registrar is responsible for the uniform and efficient registration, compilation, storage, and preservation of all vital records for Glades County. Primary functions of the department include assuring total registration of birth, death, and fetal deaths and ensuring that the confidentiality and integrity of all vital records are maintained.
The Glades County Vital Statistics office has on-line access to and sells certified birth records of persons born in Glades County from 1908 to the present, or persons born within the state of Florida from 1930 to the present. We also sell certified death certificates of persons who have died in Glades County from 1917 to the present. Certified copies of vital records are issued to qualified applicants for identification, genealogical, and legal purposes.
Vital Statistics assists the general public in amending records resulting from typographical errors, legal name changes, paternity actions and the filing of delayed records. This department also has the capability of providing addresses and fees for out-of-state documents.
Please ensure that you are eligible to receive these documents. You must meet one of the following criteria: Be the child named on the certificate AND over 18 years old, Be the parent, guardian or legal representative of the person named on the certificate, or have a court order. Our fees:
Glades County Birth: $10.00 for the first certified copy and $6.00 for each additional copies.
Death certificates are available for Glades County from our office and are $7.00 a copy. They can be ordered with, or without cause. All fees are subject to change and are non refundable.
