Heart to Heart Chronic Disease Health Prevention and Education Program is working for a healthier Hendry County. The program offers Diabetes and Freedom From Smoking classes twice a year and Fresh 2 U, a fruit and vegetable program in the area elementary schools working to keep our children healthy. Heart to Heart also sponsors Hendry County on the Move, a program to encourage people to become more physically active. We also have an exercise group that meets at the health department in LaBelle. Heart to Heart speakers are available on topics such as diabetes, the obesity epidemic, heart disease and stroke prevention, nutrition and physical activity.
In conjunction with many other programs the health department sponsors annual Men's and Women's health fairs in LaBelle and a health fair in Clewiston. Heart to Heart also sponsors
