Prescription Assistance Program

The Nature Coast Community Health Center and the Hernando County Health Department have a prescription assistance program to assist qualified patients with obtaining medications from available resources. Participants must be under the care of a NCCHC/HCHD physician, enrolled in our Primary Care Program and referred by our providers. Patients who have Medicaid or private or public prescription plans are not eligible for this program.

Clients receiving prescriptions at the health department may use any pharmacy of their choice.  The health department contracts with a local pharmacy to provide medications at a reduced cost; a limited number of medicines are available.  This program known as 340B, is not free.  Eligible clients are responsible for paying the cost of the medication and a dispensing fee.
