WOMEN'S HEALTH
The Women’s Health Services offer yearly exams, PAP tests, breast exams, infection identification and treatment, and family planning services. Family Planning includes pregnancy tests, education and community resources. This helps families and individuals plan family size as a way to improve the health of their families. Our staff offers information on abstinence and natural family planning methods as well as providing Depo-Provera, birth control pills, contraceptive film, condoms, diaphragms and IUDs (Intrauterine Devices). Staff members explain each method, benefits and drawbacks. Informed decisions are encouraged! Our prenatal program provides routine medical care to pregnant women between the ages of 15 and 35 who do not have significant medical problems. Services include pre- and post-partum visits and screening tests for women with and without insurance. Prenatal vitamins, along with education and information for a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby are provided. Childbirth education classes are also available. Healthy Start provides maternal and child health services to improve pregnancy outcomes and help children get a healthy start in life. Women who sign up for the service by texting BABY to 511411 (or BEBE for Spanish) will receive free text messages each week, timed to their due date or baby’s date of birth. The messages focus on a variety of topics critical to maternal and child health, including birth defects prevention, immunization, nutrition, seasonal flu, mental health, oral health, and safe sleep. Text4baby messages also connect women to prenatal and infant care services and other resources. Dental Dental services are available by appointment only at both locations.
