The goal of the Healthy Communities, Healthy People program at the Lafayette County Health Department is to educate residents on ways to adopt healthy behaviors such as eating nutritious foods, controlling portion sizes, being physically active and avoiding tobacco use to prevent or control the devastating effects of chronic diseases. The program coordinator is available to collaborate with county agencies, governmental bodies, businesses, schools and individuals to create environmental and policy changes for healthy lifestyles.
