Tobacco Free Lafayette (TFL)The Lafayette County Health Department will be sponsoring a partnership called Tobacco Free Lafayette. This partnership is designed to promote tobacco awareness and prevention in the community. We will be entering the school and organizing a positive SWAT club to bring awareness to our youth and their families. We will partner with Providers for services to help citizens with tobacco addictions and offer cessation classes. We will work with policy makers to help reduce or eliminate tobacco usage at the workplace and in our community. We will try and build a strong healthy environment for our community through education and awareness. Cessation
If you smoke, becoming smoke-free is the single most important thing you can do for your health. The QuitLine is a toll-free telephone-based tobacco use cessation service. Any person living in Florida who wants to try to quit smoking can use the QuitLine. The following services are available through the QuitLine: counseling sessions, self help materials, and materials in English and Spanish, translation service for other languages, pharmacotherapy assistance and TDD service for hearing impaired.
