NOTICE TO POTENTIAL VARIANCE APPLICANTS Variance applications require the appropriate fee be paid prior to the Health Department in Lee County processing the request. For a residential, single-lot variance request, the fee is $200.00. For a residential, multiple-lot (subdivision variance request) the fee is $200.00 regardless of the number of lots affected. For a commercial variance request the fee is $300.00. Print out the variance checklist and include it with your application. Due to the large volume of variance applications received each month by the Health Department in Lee County, it is our policy to strictly adhere to the established timelines delineated below. Timeline: 1st of the month: Variance applications and the appropriate fee must be received by the Health Department in Lee County. Variance applications received by the Health Department in Lee County after the 1st of the month WILL NOT be processed and sent to Tallahassee until the following month. 15th of the month: Variance applications must be received by Tallahassee for placement on the following month’s agenda. Please see the attached document titled “Variance Review and Advisory Committee: Onsite Sewage Treatment and Disposal Systems Meetings for 2004”. 1st Thursday of the month following the applicant’s variance request submittal to the Health Department in Lee County: The Variance Board will meet and decide to approve, approve with proviso(s), or disapprove the variance request. The applicant and the Health Department in Lee County will be notified with the decision, usually within 2 weeks. If the variance request has been approved the permit will be issued accordingly.
