Environmental Engineering has been delegated by the Florida Department of Health (DOH) to issue construction and annual operating permits to Swimming Pools/Bathing Places in Lee County. Responsibilities include engineering plan reviews, construction and operating permits issuance, annual renewal operating permits issuance, construction inspections, compliance inspections, and complaint investigations associated with public swimming pools and bathing areas. Environmental Engineering inspects pools over 100,000 gallons as well as water parks. Smaller pools are handled by Environmental Health.
