Epidemiology and Communicable
Disease Control Services

Epidemiology is the department that seeks out and investigates pox, pestilence, plagues, and pandemics; in short, it is the disease control arm of the Lee County Health Department.

We investigate diseases from “A” (animal bites for rabies) to “Z” (zoonotic disease that animals may pass on to humans). Along the way we investigate red tide, shell fish poisoning, terrorist activity, mosquito borne diseases and 98 other state and federal reportable diseases.
